stay

I ask you how your day was and you always say good.

Not too much later other words slip out and I see that your day was more.

Things bothered you. People hurt you. Life confused you.

I've asked you to stay in the moment when I ask you about your day.

Focus on what I'm asking. Really think about it.

Was your day really "Good"?

I've gotten upset at you for revealing later that it was more.

And now I see, it is. Good. All the time.

Because He is good. All the time.

If only I would stay in the grace.

Not rush ahead or compare moments with another.

Remembering that All. Has. Purpose.

And He makes beauty out of every. thing.

When your daddy asks me how my day was, might my response be genuine when I, too, say good.

If the day was hectic or hurtful. Aching or exhaust-full.

Might I, too, stay near grace and declare it is good.

Today's post was part of my friend, Lisa-Jo's fun challenge each Friday to take five and Just. Write.

"...for five, short, bold beautiful minutes... unscripted and unedited...
without worrying if it's just right or not."

  3. I have ones that answer that way, too. And my common response is often the same, everything's fine and I'm good. But He always is, and He's always with us! Staying near grace and clinging with you.

    1. We don't always deliberately consider His goodness when we respond that way. But it's true. And on the receiving end we can declare it as such. Keep clinging there, at His grace, friend.

  4. To stay in the moment, to stay in His grace and tell it true. And know it's good. Even when it seems it's not.

    1. That's just it, Sandra -- "to tell it true...and to know it's good." Speaking of His goodness is powerful.
