living gratefully :: remember

Parts of my story are dust-covered.

I've wanted to tuck those parts away. Out of sight.

Yet, I always Remember.

Always.

The parts that hurt the most have left wounds tattooed heart-organ deep.

Pain has been minimized, though not entirely ceased.

The *whirl and twirl* of my living makes the hurting less so.

Yet, there are times when I come face-to-face with another soul and my story comes out of hiding. Dust is shaken off and cobwebs brushed off.

I creak a little in the telling and drops of watery tears put out the fire that burns in the aching hurt.

But every time I tell it--the hard parts--
the remembering shows me {Grace}, and the most amazing love.

So incredible. So hard to define. And truly even harder to deny.

And this remembering, it becomes my gratitude. This is my worship.

Today's post is part of my friend, Lisa-Jo's fun challenge each Friday to

     "Write for five, short, bold beautiful minutes...
     Unscripted and unedited...
     Without worrying if it's just right or not."

  2. What a way with words you have. I love this line:"I creak a little in the telling and drops of watery tears put out the fire that burns in the aching hurt." Our pain is redeemed by Christ, and that gives me hope.
