It nearly takes my breath away when I consider how many times I have missed this.
Noticing the way he looks -- longingly.
My groom wants his bride. Always.
He wants to escape into togetherness and chooses me to love on.
It's not a fleeting moment or feeling. For him it's so much more.
His eyes tell me I'm special. Accepted. Adored. Treasured.
Words aren't splashed across front covers, they're tucked away in corners.
I need to pay attention to hear his heart -- to notice.
Fear keeps me scrunched tight and makes my ears shrivel closed.
I want to fall into this love, his love. True love.
Yet, I'm still focused on what doesn't matter that I keep myself from receiving.
Brave sets aside self and chooses to see.
Today's post was part of my friend, Lisa-Jo's fun challenge each Friday to take five and Just. Write.
"...for five, short, bold beautiful minutes... unscripted and unedited...
Oh I love that last line "Brave sets aside self and chooses to see." Well done.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post.
ReplyDeleteAmy, I needed to hear that. Brave is my name, yet do I "set aside self and choose to see?" Beautiful brave picture of marriage.

"Brave sets aside self and chooses to see." oh to fall so deeply...brave enough to experience the confidence of choice - to be caught, wanted, longed for - to see whats right in front of you. your words ring true for me and I am grateful for them.
ReplyDeleteThat is about all we can do! Setting our fears aside and bravely look what lies ahead, don't you think.
